Editorial series examining artistic labour, value, and agency in Australian contemporary practice.

2019

Groundwork presents a selection of Western Australian artists whose work is shaped by the material and economic realities of making, where questions of production, visibility, and sustainability are embedded in everyday practice. The series draws attention to the conditions under which artistic work is produced and circulated, and how these conditions inform its reception and value within broader cultural contexts.
